Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automotive Engineer to join our dynamic team in Leeds. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in vehicle design, development, and testing. The successful candidate will work on a variety of tasks, from conceptual design to validation, ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence. You will be instrumental in developing future mobility solutions and enhancing vehicle performance, safety, and sustainability. This is an on-site position requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and develop automotive components and systems using CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Conduct testing and validation of vehicle components and complete systems, interpreting results and providing recommendations.
  • Perform root cause analysis for engineering issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in the automotive sector.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, or chassis design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) technologies or autonomous driving systems.
  • Experience in project management within an engineering environment.
  • Membership in a professional engineering institution (e.g., IMechE, SAE).
