Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Laundry Sorter to join our industrial facility team in Wollongong. This full-time, on-site position involves routine tasks within a fast-paced laundry environment, crucial for the efficient processing of linen for our various clients. No prior experience is required as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure you are comfortable and proficient in all aspects of the role. Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled linen according to type, colour, and client specifications.
- Load and unload industrial washing machines and dryers safely and efficiently.
- Fold, iron, and package clean linen accurately, ensuring quality standards.
- Inspect linen for quality and report any damaged or stained items to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering strictly to all hygiene and sanitation protocols.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist with other general laundry duties and operational tasks as required by team leaders.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.
- Good attention to detail, particularly in sorting and quality checking.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods, lift moderately heavy items (up to 15-20kg), and perform bending/reaching tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to attendance.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Basic English comprehension for following verbal and written instructions and safety guidelines.
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided for all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, production, or industrial setting (not essential but considered an advantage).
- Familiarity with basic industrial machinery operation (training will be provided for specific equipment).
