Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and analytical Health & Safety Data Analyst with a strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) to join our Goulburn team. In this ongoing role, you will be instrumental in collecting, analysing, and interpreting WHS data to identify trends, potential hazards, and areas for improvement. Your insights will directly contribute to enhancing our safety performance and compliance across all operations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a commitment to promoting a safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, collate, and manage WHS incident data, audit findings, and risk assessment information from various sources.
- Perform statistical analysis on WHS data to identify trends, root causes, and predict potential future risks.
- Develop and maintain WHS dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed WHS performance reports for management, highlighting key metrics, compliance status, and recommendations.
- Support the development and implementation of WHS strategies and initiatives based on data-driven insights.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within WHS management systems.
- Collaborate with WHS officers and operational teams to understand data requirements and reporting needs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of WHS data collection and analysis processes.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within WHS or a related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel (advanced), SQL, and Power BI/Tableau.
- Demonstrated understanding of WHS principles, legislation, and reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex data insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Experience with specific WHS management software systems.
- Certifications in data analytics or WHS.
