Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and organized Municipal Licensing Clerk to join our team in St. Thomas. This role is crucial in supporting the daily operations of our licensing department, ensuring accurate record-keeping, processing applications, and providing exceptional service to our community members. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Process various municipal license applications, ensuring completeness and compliance with city bylaws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensing records in both digital and physical formats.
  • Assist the public with inquiries regarding licensing requirements, application procedures, and related municipal regulations.
  • Collect and reconcile licensing fees, issuing receipts and maintaining financial records.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to licensing activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve licensing issues and streamline processes.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in office administration, business, or a related field
