Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Hotel Maintenance Helper to join our team at Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in hotel maintenance, offering a fantastic opportunity to learn a variety of trades and gain hands-on experience. You will assist our skilled maintenance team with daily tasks, learn to use various tools safely, and contribute to the overall upkeep and smooth operation of our resort. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with routine repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Learn to safely operate and maintain various tools and equipment.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting duties under supervision.
- Conduct daily checks of common areas and facilities, reporting any issues.
- Help with grounds keeping, minor landscaping, and general tidiness of the resort.
- Move furniture and equipment as required.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Respond to minor guest room maintenance requests.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic physical fitness and ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current driver's license.
