Job Description

Join PSE&G as an Energy Efficiency Home Auditor Trainee! This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about sustainability and helping communities. No prior experience is required as comprehensive paid training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills. You will learn to perform energy audits in residential homes, identify areas for improvement, and educate homeowners on how to reduce energy consumption and save on utility bills. A company vehicle will be provided for all work-related local travel within the Newark service area and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided comprehensive paid training programs to master energy auditing techniques and safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough energy efficiency assessments in residential homes following established guidelines and standards.
  • Identify common energy waste issues such as air leaks, inadequate insulation, and inefficient appliances using specialized tools.
  • Collect and record data accurately during audits using company-provided software and equipment.
  • Educate homeowners on actionable steps they can take to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility costs.
  • Recommend specific, tailored energy-saving solutions and products to residents.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all audits, recommendations, and customer interactions.
  • Operate and maintain company-provided tools and vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing homeowner questions and concerns professionally.

Required Skills

  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with homeowners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with mobile applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
