Job Description
TELUS is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy and operations. As CFO, you will be a key member of our executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, reporting, risk management, and investment strategies. This crucial role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving financial performance and sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy to support long-term growth and profitability.
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Manage financial risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Lead and mentor the finance department team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
- Drive capital allocation decisions, M&A activities, and investor relations.
- Optimize cash flow management and working capital strategies.
- Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support business decisions across all departments.
- Ensure robust internal controls and financial systems are in place and continually improved.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles, preferably within a large, publicly traded company.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and strategic management.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial operations and drive significant financial outcomes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience with executive visa application processes and international talent integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent).
- Experience in the telecommunications, technology, or a related high-growth industry.
- Previous experience with M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration.
- Fluency in additional languages.
