Job Description

Preston City Council is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Trainee Waste Management Supervisor. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with no prior experience in waste management to gain valuable skills, comprehensive training, and develop into a vital leadership role within our essential services. As a Trainee Waste Management Supervisor, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant waste collection and disposal services across Preston. You will receive full training and mentorship, learning everything from operational logistics and health and safety protocols to team supervision and community engagement. Your contribution will directly impact the cleanliness and sustainability of our city.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the supervision and coordination of waste collection teams on daily routes.
- Learning and enforcing health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Monitoring service delivery and identifying areas for improvement.
- Responding to resident enquiries and resolving operational issues with guidance.
- Assisting with route planning and resource allocation.
- Undertaking administrative tasks related to waste management operations.

Required Skills
