Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically fit Solar Panel Installation Labourers to join our rapidly growing team. This is a vital role in delivering high-quality solar PV systems to our clients across Plymouth and the wider region. You will work as part of a skilled installation crew, assisting with all aspects of solar panel mounting, wiring, and general site preparation. This role requires regular travel to various project sites, often within a daily commuting distance, and offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the booming renewable energy sector. We value teamwork, safety, and a strong work ethic. Full training on solar-specific procedures will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified electricians and solar installers with the installation of solar PV panels on residential and commercial properties.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up scaffolding, safely accessing roofs, and ensuring all tools and materials are ready.
- Handle and transport solar panels, mounting equipment, and other materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform general labour duties such as clearing debris, organizing tools, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines and procedures rigorously.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
- Represent Evergen Solar UK professionally on client sites.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work at heights.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and safely.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites daily.
- Full UK driving license preferred (or reliable transport to meeting points).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, roofing, or general labour.
- Experience working with power tools.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- First Aid certification.
