Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Body Technician / Panel Beater to join our dynamic team in Val-d’Or, Quebec. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring the highest standards of safety and aesthetics. We are open to supporting eligible international candidates with Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for this vital role. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of auto body repairs, from minor dents to major structural damage, using specialized tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely vehicle damage assessment and estimation.
- Repair and replace damaged body parts, including panels, fenders, and bumpers.
- Execute chassis and frame straightening using specialized equipment.
- Conduct welding, grinding, and sanding operations.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including masking and priming.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate effectively with painters, estimators, and other team members.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Auto Body Technician or Panel Beater.
- Proficiency in frame straightening and measurement systems.
- Expertise in dent removal, body filler application, and sanding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, spot welding).
- Ability to work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminum, and plastics.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Fluency in English or French.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Auto Body Repair (e.g., I-CAR, Red Seal).
- Experience with computerised repair and estimation systems.
- Familiarity with modern vehicle technologies and repair methods.
- Ability to speak both English and French.
