Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable individuals to join our team as Refuse Loaders / Bin Collectors. This vital role involves collecting residential and commercial waste, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery across Annapolis. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, working outdoors, and making a tangible difference in the community every day. This position requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and a commitment to teamwork. Early starts are a given, and we offer competitive weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently collect residential and commercial waste and recycling bins.
- Operate compaction mechanisms and other equipment on refuse trucks.
- Assist the driver with navigating routes and backing up the vehicle safely.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of collection equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on and around the truck.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and the public.
- Lift and load heavy items as required throughout the shift.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management or similar physically demanding outdoor work.
- Valid driver's license (not required for loader position, but a plus for future advancement).
