Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Automotive Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Shrewsbury. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about automotive engineering, eager to contribute to ground-breaking projects from concept to production. You will be instrumental in designing and developing various automotive components and systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine automotive components and systems using CAD software, adhering to design specifications and industry standards.
- Perform design calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and supply chain teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely project delivery.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Participate in design reviews, offering constructive feedback and incorporating revisions based on feedback and test results.
- Research and implement new materials, technologies, and design methodologies to enhance product innovation and efficiency.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Support prototyping activities and provide engineering assistance during the build and testing phases.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, Siemens NX).
- Strong understanding of automotive design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949).
