Job Description
Join our dedicated civil infrastructure team as a Bridge Maintenance Worker, specializing in civil work, based in Geelong. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in infrastructure maintenance. We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable team players who are eager to learn and contribute to the upkeep and safety of vital bridge structures across the region. Full training will be provided to ensure you gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this essential role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of bridge structures and associated civil assets.
- Perform tasks such as concrete patching, minor steelwork repairs, joint sealing, and vegetation management around bridge sites.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and environmental regulations on site.
- Support the team in preparing sites, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
- Report any structural defects or safety concerns to the team leader promptly.
Required Skills
- A strong commitment to safety and a willingness to follow instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- A valid Australian C-Class Driver's License.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laboring or construction-related role (even if informal).
- Basic understanding of civil construction or maintenance principles.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- First Aid certification.
