Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Surgical Instrument Sterilization Tech. This vital back-office role is critical to maintaining patient safety and ensuring our surgical teams have access to sterile, ready-to-use instruments. You will be responsible for the meticulous cleaning, inspection, and sterilization of surgical equipment following strict protocols. This position offers comprehensive training, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in healthcare without prior experience. Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
- Inspect instruments for functionality and cleanliness, identifying any damage or wear.
- Assemble surgical trays and instrument sets accurately.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves) and document cycles.
- Maintain accurate records of all sterilized items and equipment.
- Distribute sterile instruments and supplies to operating rooms and other hospital departments.
- Adhere strictly to all infection control and safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols precisely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation.
- Physical ability to lift, stand, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting (even if not sterilization specific).
- Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST, CBSPD) is a plus, but not required for entry-level.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
