Job Description
Join our dynamic national delivery team as a Truck Offsider. This physically demanding but highly rewarding role involves assisting our professional drivers with the safe and efficient delivery of goods across the UK. You’ll be an integral part of our logistics operation, ensuring products reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition. Key Responsibilities
- Assist truck drivers with the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and securing of freight.
- Verify the accuracy of cargo against delivery manifests.
- Provide navigational assistance and direction to drivers as needed, optimizing delivery routes.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers upon delivery, ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck cabin and cargo area throughout shifts.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety regulations and operational policies.
- Promptly report any issues, damages, or discrepancies encountered during transit or delivery.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated physical fitness and the ability to repeatedly lift and move heavy items safely.
- Strong attention to detail, especially for verifying cargo and documentation.
- Excellent teamwork and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A high degree of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and adapt to changing delivery schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehousing, logistics, or delivery support role.
- Basic understanding of vehicle safety checks and load securement principles.
