Job Description

Are you looking for an entry-level opportunity to start a rewarding career in healthcare? Bartlett Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Sleep Clinic Night Technician Trainee to join our Sleep Disorders Center team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in sleep medicine, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. As a Trainee, you will work the night shift, learning to monitor patients during sleep studies, collect vital data, and ensure patient comfort and safety under the direct supervision of experienced polysomnographic technologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist with the setup of sleep study equipment on patients, including applying electrodes and sensors.
  • Monitor patients during overnight sleep studies, observing for any abnormalities or events as instructed.
  • Document observations and data accurately into patient records.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the sleep study.
  • Respond to patient needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting and maintenance as trained.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts.
  • Proficiency in basic computer usage.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a customer service or patient-facing role.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Interest in healthcare and sleep medicine.
  • CPR certification (will be provided if not already held).
