Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Doctor / General Practitioner to join our growing team in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including prescribing medications and referring to specialists as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and allied health providers, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities within the community.
  • Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and regulatory requirements set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
  • Engage in continuous professional development and medical education.
  • Provide after-hours on-call services on a rotational basis as part of the clinic's commitment to continuous care.

Required Skills

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) – we will assist international candidates with this process.
  • Completion of a recognized residency program in Family Medicine or General Practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience practicing as a General Practitioner in a primary care setting.
  • Experience with Canadian healthcare systems and EMRs (e.g., Med Access, Oscar) is an asset.
  • Additional language proficiency is considered an advantage.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
