Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Doctor / General Practitioner to join our growing team in Cranbrook, British Columbia. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, managing a diverse range of health conditions, and contributing to the overall health and wellness of the Cranbrook community. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including prescribing medications and referring to specialists as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and allied health providers, to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities within the community.
- Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and regulatory requirements set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Engage in continuous professional development and medical education.
- Provide after-hours on-call services on a rotational basis as part of the clinic's commitment to continuous care.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) – we will assist international candidates with this process.
- Completion of a recognized residency program in Family Medicine or General Practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience practicing as a General Practitioner in a primary care setting.
- Experience with Canadian healthcare systems and EMRs (e.g., Med Access, Oscar) is an asset.
- Additional language proficiency is considered an advantage.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
