Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Bupa Health & Dental Centre in Brighton. In this vital role, you will work under the direct supervision of qualified Physiotherapists, providing essential support in the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will assist with patient rehabilitation programs, prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational experience in a healthcare setting who is looking to develop their career in physiotherapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physiotherapists in the delivery of patient treatment programs, including exercise demonstration and supervision.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment before and after patient appointments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising Physiotherapist.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records as directed.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Provide empathetic support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Required Skills
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a healthcare support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working specifically within a physiotherapy or rehabilitation setting.
