Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team in Cambridge. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical accounting background and a proven track record of driving financial efficiency and robust internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage and comply with local, national, and international government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Provide leadership and support to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic business initiatives.

Required Skills

  • CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified (or equivalent international qualification).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a Financial Controller or senior accounting role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a finance team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the technology or semiconductor industry.
  • Previous experience with international financial reporting and multi-currency operations.
  • Project management certification or experience.
  • Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
