Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automation Tester to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team in Norwich. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge financial products and services. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts, contributing to our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and working closely with development teams to identify and resolve defects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical area of our business, leveraging modern automation tools and methodologies to deliver exceptional software quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts for new and existing features using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Execute automated test suites and analyze test results, identifying and reporting defects with clear, concise documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to an Agile development environment.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies within the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging testing trends, technologies, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Automation Tester or QA Engineer with a strong focus on automation.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages suitable for test automation (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, SpecFlow).
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of database testing techniques and SQL.
