Job Description

No prior HGV experience is required! We will provide comprehensive, fully paid CDL/HGV licensing training, ensuring you gain the necessary qualifications and skills to become a professional Concrete Mixer Truck Driver. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn and committed to building a long-term career with a reputable local company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage fully in the provided CDL/HGV training program and pass all required tests to obtain your license.
  • Learn to operate and maintain concrete mixer trucks safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Adhere to all road safety regulations, company policies, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of concrete to various construction sites across Cornwall.
  • Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients on job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, site managers, and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • A valid UK Category B (car) driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to learning and professional development.
  • Excellent time management and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A responsible and safety-conscious attitude.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manual or outdoor working environment.

  • Local knowledge of roads and areas within Cornwall.
