Job Description

Cornwall Concrete Solutions is offering a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Concrete Mixer Truck Driver Trainee. No prior HGV experience is required! We will provide comprehensive, fully paid CDL/HGV licensing training, ensuring you gain the necessary qualifications and skills to become a professional Concrete Mixer Truck Driver. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn and committed to building a long-term career with a reputable local company.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage fully in the provided CDL/HGV training program and pass all required tests to obtain your license.
- Learn to operate and maintain concrete mixer trucks safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations, company policies, and health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of concrete to various construction sites across Cornwall.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients on job sites.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site managers, and colleagues.
Required Skills
- A valid UK Category B (car) driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to learning and professional development.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A responsible and safety-conscious attitude.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manual or outdoor working environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or understanding of vehicle operation.
- Local knowledge of roads and areas within Cornwall.
