Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Roofers Mate to join our growing team in Leith, Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the roofing industry, working alongside experienced professionals. The successful candidate will assist our skilled roofers with various tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Full training and ongoing development opportunities will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled roofers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems (e.g., slate, tile, flat roofs).
- Prepare worksites, including setting up scaffolding, safety barriers, and securing materials.
- Transport materials and tools to and from the work area.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and cleaned.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Support the team in completing tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of construction safety principles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or manual labour role.
- Basic knowledge of roofing materials and tools.
- Valid CSCS card.
- First Aid certification.
- Full UK driving license.
