Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Distance Learning Coordinator to join our innovative team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute to public education from the comfort of your home. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting, developing, and enhancing our distance learning programs, ensuring accessibility and high-quality educational experiences for all learners across Ontario. You will work collaboratively with educators, content creators, and technical support teams to manage and optimize digital learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the successful delivery of various distance learning courses and programs.
- Provide technical and pedagogical support to students and educators using our learning platforms.
- Assist in the development and curation of digital learning resources and multimedia content.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning initiatives, recommending improvements.
- Organize and facilitate virtual workshops and training sessions for educators on best practices in online teaching.
- Maintain communication channels with learners, parents, and educational partners.
- Manage learning management system (LMS) functionalities, including user accounts, course enrollment, and content updates.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to online learning platforms and tools.
- Stay current with trends and advancements in educational technology and distance learning methodologies.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle, Canvas, or Brightspace.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with online content creation tools and digital media formats.
- Experience in customer service or support roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a distance learning or online education environment.
- Understanding of the K-12 public education system in Ontario.
- Experience with accessibility standards for digital content (e.g., WCAG).
- Fluency in French is an asset.
