Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Aviation Parts Courier to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. This role involves the time-critical transportation of aircraft parts and components to various locations, including maintenance facilities and aircraft on the tarmac. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring prompt and secure deliveries, maintaining a detailed log of all movements, and upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism. A clean driving record and a meticulous approach to handling sensitive materials are paramount for this position. This is a dynamic role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the critical nature of aviation logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport aviation parts and components to designated locations within the Winnipeg area and surrounding regions.
- Adhere strictly to delivery schedules and time-critical deadlines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the company vehicle is in optimal condition.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, pickups, and vehicle mileage.
- Handle sensitive and sometimes fragile aircraft parts with utmost care, ensuring their integrity during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and receiving personnel.
- Comply with all company policies, transport regulations, and airport security procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading parts as required.
- Represent Cargojet Airways professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain necessary airport security clearances (RAIC).
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous courier or delivery experience, especially in a time-critical environment.
- Familiarity with Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
- Experience working in an aviation or logistics setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and route navigation.
