Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and eager to kickstart your career in the open-source world? ARM is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Open Source Community Intern to join our team in Cambridge. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with little to no prior professional experience, offering a unique opportunity to contribute directly to open-source projects on GitHub. You will learn best practices in software development, version control, and community engagement, all while being mentored by experienced engineers. This internship focuses on helping you understand the mechanics of large-scale open-source projects, make meaningful contributions, and connect with the developer community.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with existing open-source communities on GitHub, participating in discussions and providing support.
- Identify opportunities for small-scale contributions to ARM-related open-source projects, such as documentation updates, bug fixes, or test enhancements.
- Write clear and concise documentation for project features and processes.
- Submit well-structured pull requests on GitHub, ensuring code quality and adherence to project guidelines.
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to understand project goals and technical requirements.
- Learn and apply best practices for Git, GitHub, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
