Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Cold Storage Pickers to join our team in Burton upon Trent. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of frozen goods within our distribution network. You will be responsible for accurately picking and preparing orders in a cold storage environment. We understand the unique demands of this role, which is why we offer premium freezer pay rates and provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including insulated clothing, to keep you safe and comfortable. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack frozen products according to order sheets.
- Operate pallet trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area within the freezer environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly those related to cold storage.
- Perform quality checks on products and report any discrepancies or damage.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold storage environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Commitment to following safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution setting (though not essential as full training is given).
- Experience operating MHE (Manual Handling Equipment) such as pallet trucks or forklift (certification a bonus, but training provided).
