Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Guard to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, colleagues, and customers, as well as protecting company assets from theft and damage. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to act calmly and effectively in various situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and colleagues.
- Deter and detect theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, including sales floors, stockrooms, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarm points.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, escalating as necessary.
- Assist with the opening and closing procedures of the store.
- Provide excellent customer service and act as a point of contact for security-related queries.
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with store management and local law enforcement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably within a retail environment.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant security procedures and protocols.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including regular patrols and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guard).
- First Aid certification.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring systems.
