Job Description
Are you practical, customer-focused, and looking for a fulfilling career where you can learn a valuable trade? Autoglass is seeking an enthusiastic Windscreen Repairer to join our dynamic team in Slough. No prior experience in vehicle glass repair is required as we provide comprehensive, industry-leading training to ensure you become a skilled professional. You will be responsible for accurately diagnosing damage, expertly repairing and replacing windscreens and other vehicle glass, and consistently delivering outstanding service to our valued customers. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist technical skills within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and accurate assessments of vehicle glass damage to determine the best course of action (repair or replacement).
- Perform windscreen repairs and replacements using specialist tools, techniques, and adherence to Autoglass's rigorous quality standards.
- Ensure all work meets the highest safety and quality standards, complying with all relevant industry regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, clearly explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
- Effectively manage vehicle glass stock, tools, and equipment in your assigned service vehicle or depot.
- Accurately complete all administrative tasks, including job sheets, customer details, and payment processing.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, whether at the depot or on-site with a customer.
Required Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential for mobile service duties).
- A strong desire to learn, embrace new technologies, and develop specialist technical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- A proactive and customer-focused attitude.
- Basic computer literacy for administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude or previous experience using hand tools.
- Previous experience in a customer service or field-based role.
- Understanding of basic health and safety principles.
- NVQ Level 2 in Automotive Glazing or similar (though full training is provided for those without).
