Job Description
Join WSP as a Structural Engineer and contribute to iconic projects in London and beyond. We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to strengthen our dynamic team. This unique opportunity offers full support for LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) and Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for eligible international candidates. You will be instrumental in designing and delivering innovative structural solutions for a diverse portfolio of buildings and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis and design for various building types and infrastructure projects using relevant software and codes.
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, M&E engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during the construction phase.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
- Contribute to bid proposals and project management activities as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience in structural design within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, Robot Structural Analysis).
- Strong understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards it with a recognized institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE).
- Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit Structure).
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and low-carbon construction methods.
- Experience across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, or healthcare.
