Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our thriving Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual, whether an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced educator, to contribute to our school’s continued success. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates, inspiring a love of scientific inquiry in our students. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, committed to providing the best possible learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons to students across various key stages.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and progress of students.
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for Science.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure consistent high standards.
- Uphold the school's values and ethos, promoting a respectful and supportive learning community.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
- Evidence of successful teaching practice, particularly for experienced teachers.
- Experience with various teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
- A postgraduate qualification in Education or a Science discipline.
