Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Concrete Form Stripper and Demolition Laborer to join our team in Penzance, Cornwall. This role offers high pay for individuals committed to safety and hard work on our various construction and demolition sites. You will be instrumental in the crucial task of safely stripping concrete forms, preparing sites for further development, and assisting with general demolition activities. This is an on-site position requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to operate effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently strip concrete forms and falsework from newly poured concrete structures.
- Assist with general demolition tasks, including manual demolition, debris removal, and site preparation.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Perform other labouring duties as required on site.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools (hammers, pry bars, wrenches, etc.).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
- Minimum of 12 months previous experience in a construction, demolition, or similar heavy labour role.
- Manual handling training certification.
- Basic First Aid certification.
