Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior 3D Modeller to join our growing creative team in Derry. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about 3D art and design, looking to kick-start their career in a supportive and dynamic environment. As a Junior 3D Modeller, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop your skills in creating high-quality 3D assets for various projects, including visualisations, simulations, and interactive experiences. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for raw talent, a keen eye for detail, and a strong desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior artists in the creation of 3D models, textures, and materials.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard 3D software and workflows.
  • Collaborate with the art team to ensure visual consistency and quality across projects.
  • Participate in feedback sessions and iterate on models based on constructive criticism.
  • Maintain organised asset libraries and adhere to project naming conventions.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and technologies in 3D modelling and digital art.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of 3D modelling principles and software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max).
  • Familiarity with digital sculpting tools (e.g., ZBrush, Mudbox) is a plus.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing personal 3D work (even if academic or personal projects).
  • Keen eye for detail, form, and proportion.
  • Ability to learn new software and techniques quickly.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong passion for 3D art and visual creation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in 3D Animation, Game Design, Digital Art, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of texturing and UV mapping.
  • Experience with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is beneficial.
  • Understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
