Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our dynamic team in Tulsa, OK. This role involves delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to adult students of varying proficiency levels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong understanding of language acquisition principles, and the ability to create an immersive and interactive classroom experience. We are actively seeking qualified candidates who may require LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) or CoS (Certificate of Sponsorship) support, and we are prepared to facilitate this process for the right individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered English language lessons covering grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and cultural exchange.
- Utilize a variety of teaching materials, resources, and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Participate in curriculum development, staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
- Adhere to Kaplan International Languages' academic standards and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent internationally recognized ESL teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching English as a Second Language to adult learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English at a native or near-native level.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Strong classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and blended learning approaches.
- Familiarity with various assessment tools and language proficiency frameworks (e.g., CEFR).
- Experience living or working abroad.
