Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Golang Engineer to join our dynamic product development team in Gateshead. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and reliable microservices and APIs using Go.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring high test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems and applications.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Go (Golang) and its ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid understanding of concurrent programming and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in financial technology (FinTech) or business software.
