Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Golang Engineer to join our dynamic product development team in Gateshead. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and reliable microservices and APIs using Go.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring high test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems and applications.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Go (Golang) and its ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid understanding of concurrent programming and distributed systems.
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience in financial technology (FinTech) or business software.
