Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join our remote night shift team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about cybersecurity and eager to kickstart their career in a dynamic and critical field. As a Junior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents during off-peak hours, ensuring the continuous protection of our infrastructure and data. Full training will be provided to help you develop the necessary skills and expertise to excel in this role. This position requires a commitment to a consistent night shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS) during designated night shifts.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents to determine their nature, scope, and potential impact.
- Escalate complex or high-priority incidents to senior analysts or appropriate teams for further investigation and resolution.
- Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation steps accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist in the development and refinement of security monitoring processes and playbooks.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to team efforts by sharing knowledge, insights, and lessons learned.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance cybersecurity skills.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated strong interest in cybersecurity and information technology.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, routers).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
- Availability to work a consistent night shift schedule.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and threats.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a cybersecurity-related bootcamp or online course.
- Entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate).
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
