Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wind Turbine Engineer to join our growing team based in Truro, Cornwall. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our wind turbine assets across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine generators and associated equipment, playing a vital part in our mission to deliver reliable green energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex faults, implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with site managers and other technical staff to optimize turbine availability and performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and support as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for turbine maintenance.
  • Commitment to high safety standards and practices.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
  • GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival).
  • Experience with SCADA systems and turbine control software.
  • Previous experience working in an offshore wind environment.
