Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in and successfully complete all aspects of the structured training program, including mastering industry-standard desktop publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Assist senior Desktop Publishers in the accurate and visually appealing layout and design of various print and digital publications, including newspapers, magazines, and marketing materials.
• Precisely format text, incorporate images, and integrate graphics according to established brand guidelines and editorial style guides.
• Prepare and proofread files meticulously for print and digital distribution, ensuring absolute accuracy, high quality, and adherence to technical specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with editorial, design, and production teams to ensure timely completion of projects and seamless workflow.
• Conduct thorough quality checks on all prepared materials to maintain our high standards of excellence.
• Maintain an organised and accessible library of design assets, project files, and templates.
• Undertake other duties as assigned to support the design and production team.

Required Skills

• Excellent computer literacy and a comfortable proficiency with various software applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
• A strong eagerness and willingness to learn new software, design principles, and industry best practices.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A demonstrated ability to follow instructions precisely and efficiently.
• Possess a positive attitude, strong initiative, and a dedicated work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and a creative or design-related subject (e.g., Art, Design & Technology).
• A basic conceptual understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout principles would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with either Mac or PC operating environments.
• While not required, any prior exposure or basic familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) will be viewed positively.
