Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team in Corpus Christi, Texas. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, development, and deployment of critical software solutions that power our enterprise infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a technical leader, a mentor, and a strategic thinker, capable of driving innovation, ensuring product quality, and fostering a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product management, architects, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and develop strategic roadmaps.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust software solutions on time and within budget.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Provide technical guidance and make critical architectural decisions to address complex engineering challenges.
- Manage team performance, conduct regular one-on-ones, and support professional development and career growth.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience managing and leading engineering teams, including performance management and career development.
- Strong technical background in modern software architectures, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Go) and familiarity with others.
- Solid understanding of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a technical team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise software development.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
