Job Description
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operators to join our dynamic construction teams operating across various critical projects in the Chicago metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment and document findings.
- Adhere to all site safety regulations, company policies, and relevant industry standards.
- Maintain equipment in good working order by performing minor maintenance and cleaning as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Execute tasks with precision, including grading, trenching, excavation, and material handling.
- Interpret and work according to project plans, specifications, and instructions.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating a variety of heavy construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant heavy equipment operator certifications or licenses.
- Experience with GPS-guided machinery.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
