Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Aerospace Engineer to join our innovative team in Maidenhead. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge aerospace systems and components. You will work within a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges and ensure the highest standards of safety and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in aviation and space technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize aerospace structures, systems, and components using CAD/CAE tools.
- Conduct stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and thermal analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Develop and execute test plans for aerospace systems and components, analyzing results and making recommendations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to project teams.
- Support the resolution of technical issues throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to in-service support.
- Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and company policies for quality and safety.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX)
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ABAQUS, ANSYS)
- Knowledge of aerodynamic principles and flight mechanics
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., EASA, FAA, MIL-STD)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Experience with system integration and testing
- Familiarity with propulsion systems or avionics
- Project management experience in an aerospace context
- Professional engineering chartership (e.g., CEng)
