Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Foreign Language Teacher to join our thriving Modern Languages department. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Spanish, French, or Mandarin and inspiring students across various age groups and abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Spanish, French, or Mandarin to students from Key Stage 3 to A-Level.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and progress of students.
- Contribute to the development of the Modern Languages curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and welfare.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Spanish, French, or Mandarin at secondary level.
- Excellent command of the chosen foreign language(s) and English.
- Strong pedagogical skills and a passion for language education.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Modern Languages or a related field.
- Experience with various educational technologies and digital learning platforms.
- Ability to teach more than one of the specified languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin).
- Experience in an independent school setting.
