Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join us as a Hospital Porter. This is an entry-level, full-time position offering comprehensive training for motivated candidates. As a Hospital Porter, you will be an essential part of our operational team, ensuring the smooth movement of patients, equipment, and vital supplies throughout our hospital facilities. Your contributions will directly support clinical staff and contribute to a positive experience for patients and visitors alike. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transporting patients safely and comfortably between wards, departments, and clinic areas.
  • Moving medical equipment, supplies, and laboratory samples efficiently around the hospital.
  • Delivering mail, records, and other important documents.
  • Assisting with the management and disposal of waste, including clinical and general waste, following strict protocols.
  • Ensuring a clean and tidy environment in communal areas and during patient transport.
  • Responding promptly to requests from clinical staff and other departments.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations and hospital policies.

Required Skills

  • No prior experience is necessary – full training will be provided!
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Physical capability to perform duties that involve walking, standing, pushing, and lifting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • A valid First Aid certificate.
