Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Controller to join our dynamic team in Coventry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring efficient flow of materials, and contributing to the overall cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of our products. This role requires a keen analytical mind, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a complex global supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and delivery schedules.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock holding while meeting production demands.
- Negotiate with suppliers and logistics providers to secure favorable terms and service levels.
- Prepare reports and presentations on supply chain metrics for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.
- Support the implementation of new supply chain technologies and systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in supply chain management or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry supply chain.
- Project management experience.
