Job Description

Are you an experienced and compassionate Critical Care Nurse looking for an exciting new chapter? Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated ICU / Critical Care Nurses to join our dynamic team in Guildford. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex medical equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Support and educate patients and their families during critical periods.
  • Participate in ward rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and national guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience, with at least 1 year in an ICU/Critical Care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-registration qualification in Critical Care Nursing (e.g., ENB 100 or equivalent).
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Experience with advanced ventilation modes and renal replacement therapy.
  • Mentorship qualification.
