Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment / Plant Manager to oversee operations at our busy Stirling site. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of plant machinery, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, optimizing plant performance, and contributing to the successful delivery of our projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of heavy equipment and plant machinery at the Stirling site.
  • Ensure all plant operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections of all heavy equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of plant operators and maintenance staff.
  • Optimize plant efficiency and productivity, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and efficient equipment deployment.
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to track operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports on plant status, performance, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage budgets related to plant operations and maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment or plant management.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the construction or quarrying industry.
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in plant maintenance scheduling and operational logistics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or plant operations.
  • Experience with large-scale construction or quarrying operations.
