Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to join our growing team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This critical role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our robust IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT infrastructure professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments.
- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies, policies, and procedures to align with business objectives and best practices.
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of all IT systems and services.
- Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs) for infrastructure-related services.
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, optimizing costs while ensuring quality and reliability.
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical IT infrastructure.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the infrastructure team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, including servers, networking, and storage.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Expertise in network architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CCNA, MCSA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with DevOps principles and tools.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience managing international teams or projects.
