Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic medical team in Manchester. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatological conditions. This role involves managing both inpatient and outpatient care, performing endoscopic procedures, and actively participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient management. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
  • Perform a full range of endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
  • Provide expert consultation for both inpatient and outpatient referrals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiologists, and dietitians.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and medical education.

Required Skills

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • CCT in Gastroenterology (or equivalent experience/qualification).
  • Demonstrable experience in general gastroenterology and hepatology.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) or equivalent.
  • Experience with advanced endoscopic techniques (e.g., ERCP, EUS).
  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Participation in clinical research or audits.
