Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic CubeSat & Small Satellite Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in Romford. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of small satellite design, development, and testing. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to real-world projects and learning about the full lifecycle of CubeSats and small satellite systems. This role is ideal for students eager to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical aerospace environment and build foundational skills for a career in space engineering. This is an on-site position based in our Romford office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of CubeSat and small satellite subsystems (e.g., structures, power, communication, ADCS).
- Support the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities of satellite components and prototypes.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in small satellite engineering.
- Help prepare technical documentation, including reports, presentations, and design specifications.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving sessions.
- Perform data collection and analysis from various tests and simulations.
- Contribute to the development of software tools or scripts for analysis or automation, if applicable.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and physics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic project experience related to aerospace, robotics, or complex systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, C++).
- Demonstrated interest in space exploration, satellites, or CubeSats.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
