Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpentry Tradesman to join our growing team in Cairns. This is an immediate start position for an experienced professional ready to hit the ground running. You will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks across different project types, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. We value our tradespeople and are providing all necessary tools to ensure you have what you need to succeed from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute various carpentry tasks including framing, decking, roofing, and formwork.
- Perform detailed finishing work such as skirting, architraves, door hanging, and cabinet installation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Ensure all work adheres to Australian building codes, safety regulations, and project timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, other trades, and site personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Identify and resolve on-site carpentry-related issues.
- Mentor junior team members or apprentices as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Carpentry Tradesman.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of carpentry, from structural to finishing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) for Queensland.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.
- Experience with a variety of construction materials and techniques.
- First Aid certification.
- Strong communication skills.
