Job Description
Coastal Arborists is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our team as Tree Ground Crew in Port Macquarie, NSW. This is an incredible opportunity for those who love working outdoors, are physically fit, and eager to learn valuable skills in arboriculture, including potential for chainsaw operation training. No prior experience in tree work is required; we are committed to providing comprehensive training for the right candidates. As a vital part of our crew, you will assist certified arborists and experienced team members in various tree care operations. You will gain hands-on experience with ground-based equipment, learn essential safety protocols, and contribute to maintaining the natural beauty and safety of our local environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of tree removal, pruning, and maintenance, under supervision.
- Operate and maintain ground-based equipment, such as wood chippers, stump grinders, and leaf blowers.
- Ensure the safe setup and take down of work sites, including traffic management.
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and debris from vehicles.
- Perform general site cleanup and debris removal.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate actively in training sessions and continually develop new skills.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied terrain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Construction Induction White Card (or ability to obtain one).
- Prior experience in manual labour or outdoor work.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance.
